Subject: Russian scientists
… I’m really into science and want to learn more about scientists from Russia. What fields of science are Russian scientists most famous for? What do you think are the greatest examples of scientific success in Russian history? Is there a Russian scientist you admire the most? Why?
… Last weekend, I visited the Science Museum in London, and it was really inspiring.

Hi Nora,
Thanks for your recent email. Great to hear from you.
I’ll be happy to answer your questions. Russian scientists are most famous for their achievements in areas like space exploration, physics, chemistry and medicine. Some of the greatest examples of scientific success in Russian history include launching the first satellite, Sputnik, and sending the first man, Yuri Gagarin, into space. Personally, I admire Sergei Korolev the most because his work made dreams of space travel a reality.
I’d love to know more about your visit to the Science Museum. Did you go there alone or with your friends? What was the most surprising thing you learned? How long did you spend at the museum?
Looking forward to your reply.
Best wishes,
Alla
