Imagine that you are doing a project on the most-liked aspects of school for teenagers in Zetland. You have found some data on the subject – the results of the opinion polls (see the pie chart below).
Comment on the data in the pie chart and give your opinion on the subject of the project.
The opinion poll question:
Which is your most-liked aspect of school?
Write 200-250 words.
Use the following plan:
– make an opening statement on the subject of the project;
– select and report 2–3 facts;
– make 1–2 comparisons where relevant and give your comments;
– outline a problem that can arise with one of the aspects of school and suggest a way of solving it;
– conclude by giving and explaining your opinion on the role of schooling in teenagers’ lives.
- Problems with schoolwork
Since time management can make a big difference to the school experience, improving classwork and homework performance, it could be a good solution to learn time management skills. They can help schoolchildren study more productively, lower stress and improve overall results in academic situations.
A real solution to the problem is to get a tutor to help with schoolwork/ homework.
Being challenging, school life also has enjoyable and valuable aspects. Currently, I am working on my project to find out the most-liked aspects of school for teenagers in Zetland. As part of my project, I have found a pie chart with some relevant data on the subject and in this essay, I am going to analyse it.
It is clear from the pie chart that having friends is the most appealing aspect of schooling for 40% of the teenagers surveyed. Almost a quarter of the respondents (23%) appreciate school for breaktime. By contrast, a relatively small percentage of those polled (7%) like school because of homework.
A more detailed examination of the data in the pie chart reveals that learning is slightly more significant than teachers (17% and 13% respectively). This subtle difference suggests the importance of both aspects in the schooling experience, as they are inseparably connected.
It is worth noting that one of the aspects of school where a problem can arise is the amount of homework. Too much preparation for classes is dangerous for mental health as it leads to tiredness, stress and nervous breakdowns. To solve this problem, teachers should set a reasonable amount of homework, as students have to prepare for multiple classes, which can be time and effort consuming.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that schooling plays an essential role in teenagers’ lives. It provides them with valuable knowledge and necessary skills as well as teaches them to be confident, responsible and socially mature.
